A Deceitful Heart

Never in the bible have I read a verse that says “Follow your heart” Instead, it says, “Guard your heart”.

Why do we need to guard it instead of following it?

Well, our hearts can be deceiving.

Today, it’s a firm YES…

and tomorrow, a resounding NO.

That’s where the importance of reading GOD’S WORD and MAKING it our FINAL AUTHORITY comes into play.

Sometimes, we find it hard to obey what God tells us, especially when it contradicts our desires.

Often, though it is out of GOD’s will, we choose the things that make us happy and justify it by saying, “This is my comfort zone; this is where I’m comfortable.”

But we failed to understand that in obeying Him, sorrow may last for the night, but joy comes in the morning.
